I met the Saker there, where I was at odds with the Zionist pundit, and sometimes with the SAKER, who sometimes hailed the carriage of the pundit. I disagreed with both on Syria, which I always considered, the cave of the Arab’s résistance, and time proved that I was right, and explains why Syria is under a global attack since 13 months.

I am glad to see that the Saker, who was all the time right about Iran and Hezbullah, has the carriage to rethink his posion on Syria, because, Syria, NOW is the core of resistance. 

I generally agree with the Saker’s below analysis. However I disagree with him claiming that Russia would not “militarily defend Syria in the case of a NATO aggression”. Syria, being the corner stone of the Axis of resistance is a red line. Russia, Iran, and China are defending themselves in Syria. I can’t imagine Russia who suffered the fall of the Soviet Union, would let Syria fall, and wait it turn, the fall of the Russian Union. Khamenei told Erdogan that if Damascus has to fall, then Tehran would fall first.

The Saker is surprised with the pundit and pundit likes, who in the past had covered Nasrallah in praise ”suddenly” turning into an overnight villain. Why? the Saker asked.

Clueless Arab and Palestinian leaders and pundits: “¡Que se vayan todos!”

Two huge explosions killed and wounded scores of people in Damascus. The government accused the opposition, which, in turn, accused the government. And then this, today: in a video posted online the Islamist group al-Nusra Front says it carried out two bomb attacks in the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday (the original quote in BBC’s newspeak was: “A video posted online in the name of Islamist group, al-Nusra Front, says it carried out two bomb attacks in the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday“. Just an example of how political correctness even damages grammar). This all got me thinking again: does anybody care that the Wahabis are on yet another rabid killing spree, this time in Syria?

I have not posted much on Syria primarily because I feel rather uncomfortable with the entire situation. As you probably know, I loathe the Assad regime as much as I loathed the Gaddafi one. And yet, I don’t feel that it is right to simply indulge in reckless Assad-bashing like many Arab and, sadly, Palestinian, pundits do. The very same folks whose irresponsible “down with Gaddafi!” plunged Libya in violence, chaos and poverty are now clearly hell-bent on repeating that same “performance” with Syria. The weirdest thing about these people is that they are self-proclaimed secularists, and yet they are in bed with the worse religious fanatics of the planet (Wahabi Islamists and Orthodox Jews). They whine about human rights, but when Gaddafi gets lynched by a crazed mob who even sodomizes him with a large knife, they turn away and have nothing to say.

How could they ever imagine that he would ever side with AIPAC and all the other newfound “friends of the Syrian people”?!

It is a very sad fact that a large segment of the Palestinian political leaders and pundits have had the gall to slander the one man on the planet who did more for the Palestinian people than any other and, forgive me for saying so, who did more for Palestine than any Palestinian ever did.

I understand that it would be useless for me to argue directly with these people, so I will limited myself to dedicating this short Russian fable to them in the hope that they might reflect on its moral:

This time around, and to the great chagrin of these “friends of the Syrian people”, both Russia and China have balked at the US demands to betray Assad and the Syrian people (like they had done with Gaddafi and the Libyan people). This double veto got these folks really, really, really angry because they figured out that this time a NATO war on Syria would probably not happen. Barring a complete breakdown of the Assad regime, a “victory” for bizarre “Wahabi-Judaic-Secular coalition” is rather unlikely, hence the subsequent wave of (mostly) anti-Russian and (marginally) anti-Chinese vitriol.

Pepe Escobar has written a very witty satire about the fallback policy of the West towards Syria entitled World Powers Rush to Plunge Syria Into War. Check it out, it is both funny, accurate and sad.

As for the regime, it seems to be taking Moscow’s threats about “no more mistakes or you are own your own” seriously and following a constitutional referendum parliamentary election have taken place. Does that mean that this Baathist regime has now come clean? Probably not. Old habits die hard, and corrupt officials used to rule by fear do not mend their ways overnight. But at least these two events could become the beginning of a gradual process of reform which could last for a very long time. The opposition understands that – hence the orgy of bombings which we are now witnessing.

Its too early to call this one. The Empire did prevail in Bosnia, Kosovo and Libya, but it was defeated in Chechnia by Russia which is now probably putting a lot of pressure on Assad to clean up his act. Besides Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are probably also trying to save Assad’s regime, and both of these are very good at counter-insurgency operations. So I want to believe that there is hope to avoid a “Bosnia v4, Kosovo v3 or a Libya v2 in Syria”, but it is going to be hard: Turkey is feeling that the moment is critical and going for the jugular, and NATO still might decide to strike. As I said many, many, times here, Russia will not, repeat not, militarily defend Syria in the case of a NATO aggression. And neither will China, of course. And that is the main problem.

The NATO puppets in Syria (aka the “Syrian opposition”) enjoy the certainty that it can always retreat to a safe heaven into Turkey or Jordan and that its US and Israeli patrons will look out after them. The folks risking their necks for the Assad regime have no such guarantees. NATO can decide to strike and if that happens, they will be on their own with a zero chance to prevail.

The future is probably in the hands of the Syrian people. If they can convince NATO and its US overlords that an invasion of Syria will turn into a bloody mess followed by a bloody insurgency, NATO might decide to stay out of it. But if NATO feels that all it needs to do is engage into another air campaign “a la Libya” and that its allies on the ground will do what the KLA did in Kosovo or the Northern Alliance did in Afghanistan, then its all over for Assad and Syria.

Whatever the outcome, the moral stain on the Palestinian elites will remain: twice they back-stabbed their Arab brothers and twice they were on the wrong side of the fence. If Syria collapses, it will be with their complicity, and if Syria prevails, it will be in spite of them.

When the Argentinian people got really totally sick and tired of all of their political elites they came up with a truly beautiful slogan: “¡Que se vayan todos!” (“All of them must go!”). This is also what I wish the Palestinian people, that they finally get rid of their clueless political leaders and equally clueless do-gooder supporters abroad.

Hassan Nasrallah has recently declared that the time when Israel will cease to exist is nearing, and he is absolutely correct about that. The liberation of the Palestinian people is a historical inevitability, but it will not happen as long as the Palestinian people are lead by clueless elites. Neither Fatah nor Hamas nor the so-called “Palestinian intellectuals” have what it takes to free Palestine. So, indeed, “¡Que se vayan todos!“

The real story

DAMASCUS, (PIC)– Hamas has said in a statement on Saturday that it stands by both the leadership and people of Syria, praising Syria’s leadership and people for siding with the movement to resist the Israeli occupation throughout the years.

 في الذكرى السنوية لاستشهاد القائد العسكري للمقاومة الاسلامية الحاج عماد مغنية، تقدم «الاخبار» صورة موجزة عن واقع علاقته بالقضية الفلسطينية، منذ تعرفه على حركة «فتح» الى تواصله مع كل فصائل المقاومة حتى لحظة غيابه

ابراهيم الأمين

في حي «الجوار» بمنطقة الشياح في الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت، أبصر النور عماد مغنية يوم 25/1/1962. والده فايز مغنيّة، وأمّه آمنة سلامة. وفي مدارس ذلك الحي، تلقّى علومه الابتدائية والإعدادية وعاش مع عائلته التي فقدت أيضاً الابنين الآخرين جهاد وفؤاد.

في نحو العاشرة من عمره، صار يرافق والده في العطل الأسبوعية والصيفية إلى مطعمه الصغير الكائن في شارع عبد الكريم الخليل أحد الشوارع الرئيسية في منطقة الشياح، وفي الأمسيات كان يقضي جلّ وقته في المسجد القريب من المنزل الذي كان يعرف بمسجد الشيخ القبيسي. وعندما بلغ الثالثة عشرة من العمر، قرر عماد المتأثر كثيراً بعلوم أمّه الدينية، التوجه إلى العراق حيث الحوزة العلمية في النجف الأشرف. لكن حصل في اللحظة الأخيرة ما عطّل الرحلة.

في 13 نيسان من عام 1975 اندلعت شرارة الحرب الأهلية في لبنان من ساحة «البريد» في عين الرمانه، على بعد 50 متراً من مطعم أبيه، وحينها بدأت حياته العسكرية.

تحوّل طريق «صيدا القديمة»، الفاصل بين الشياح وعين الرمانة، إلى جبهة ساخنة كثرت فيها السواتر الترابية والكتل الخرسانية والمتاريس. في عين الرمانة كان مقاتلو الكتائب والأحرار، وفي الجانب الآخر مقاتلو الحركة الوطنية والفصائل الفلسطينية. هناك تسنّى لعماد وهو بعمر الرابعة عشرة الاختلاط والتعرف إلى اليسار بفصائله وأفكاره المتنوعة.

صادق الشيوعيين وقرأ أفكارهم، وكان لافتاً اهتمامه بتروتسكي. واختلط بالقوميين السوريين الاجتماعيين فأعجبَهُ عمقهم وانضباطهم. لكن كل ذلك لم يدفعه للانتماء إلى أي من الأحزاب اللبنانية. وأمضى أيامه ولياليه، مثل كل الفتية في الشياح، يتنقّل من محور إلى محور، ولصغر سنّه اقتصرت مشاركاته على بناء السواتر الترابية لحماية المدنيين من نيران القناصة، ثم صار يشارك في الحراسات الليلية حيث تعرف إلى المقاتلين الفلسطينيين، وسمع منهم الحكايات عن بلادهم.

أما والدته، فكان لها نصيبها الليلي من المشقّة باحثةً عنه تتقفى أثره من محور إلى آخر، فتعيده الى المنزل ليلاً ليعود ويغادره صباحاً، ولا يعود إلّا برحلة تقفّي أثر جديدة للحاجة آمنة. تلك السيدة التي لم تكن تدرك ما سيأتيها لاحقاً. ففي حزيران من عام 1984 شيّعت الحاجة آمنة والحاج فايز ابنهما الأصغر، جهاد الذي استشهد في قصف مدفعي استهدف منزل العلّامة محمد حسين فضل الله في بئر العبد. وبعد عقد من الزمن شيعت الحاجة آمنة والحاج فايز ابنهما الأوسط فؤاد، الذي كان ضمن تشكيل المقاومة، وقد اغتالته الاستخبارات الإسرائيلية بعبوة ناسفة في منطقة الصفير بالضاحية الجنوبية. كذلك لم تدرك الوالدة ما خبأته لها الأقدار بشهادة ثالث أبنائها، بكرها الحاج عماد، عام 2008.

كان واضحاً أن للتربية الدينية أثرها في الفتى عماد، ومنها اهتمامه بفكر الإمام السيّد موسى الصدر، فشارك في أنشطة حركة المحرومين آنذاك مع أبناء منطقته. لكن الأمر الأوضح، أنه تشبّع أكثر بأفكار الثورة الفلسطينية ووجد نفسه أقرب إلى أكبر فصائلها في حينه، حركة فتح. وسرعان ما أتيحت له فرصة التدريب العسكري في مخيمات عدة، في بيروت وخارجها. وتأهّل عسكرياً ليكون في موقع آمر فصيل. لكن الدورة المفصليّة كانت في معسكر الزهراني «معسكر أبو لؤي»، المعسكر الذي تلقّت فيه الشهيدة دلال المغربي تدريباتها.

عماد وفتح

في مركزية فتح في الشياح، كان يقيم أبو حسن خضر سلامة (الشهيد علي ديب الذي اغتالته إسرائيل عام 1999)، وكان يعرف أيضاً بـ«أبو حسن البلاتين»، نسبةً إلى قضبان البلاتين المزروعة في أنحاء عدة من جسده نتيجة الإصابات المتكررة. أعجب الشاب اللبناني بعماد، ووجد فيه شاباً مناسباً للعمل المتطور. وفي وقت قصير، قرر أبو حسن تعيين عماد نائباً له.

بقي ضمن التشكيل حتى عام 1981. وسبب الخروج، عدم التزام عماد قرارات الحركة. ذلك أن الشاب المتديّن، تأثّر كثيراً بخطف الإمام الصدر.

وعندما تعرّض العلّامة فضل الله لمحاولة اغتيال على يد الاستخبارات العراقية في عام 1979، كوّن عماد وبعض رفاقه درعاً أمنية للسيّد محمد حسين فضل الله حيث سهروا على حمايته وإجراءاته الأمنية، ثم رافقه في رحلة إلى الحج في عام 1980. ومن حينها صار يعرف باسم «الحاج عماد».

وجاء استشهاد السيّد محمد باقر الصدر في العراق في نيسان 1980 منعطفاً في توجهاته. وجد نفسه أمام مسؤولية الوقوف في وجه البعث الخاضع لسلطة العراق. ويومها اتهم البعث باستهداف علماء الدين وقياديين في حركة أمل وما كان يعرف في ذلك الوقت باللجان الإسلامية. انخرط الحاج عماد في مواجهات مسلّحة مع البعثيين، ما أدى إلى انفصاله كلياً عن حركة فتح في النصف الأول من عام 1981.

الاجتياح الإسرائيلي

في حزيران من عام 1982 حصل الاجتياح الإسرائيلي للبنان وكان الحاج عماد في حينه يزور العتبات المقدسة في مشهد في إيران. فور سماعه النبأ، عاد الى سوريا ومنها الى لبنان، وفي الطريق اختطفته عناصر من الكتائب اللبنانية ثم أطلق سراحه بعد تدخّلات سياسية، ودخل بيروت ليلتقي مجدداً رفاقاً له من فتح وفصائل فلسطينية. وراح الحاج عماد يتنقّل من محور الى آخر، من خلدة الى كلية العلوم جنوب شرق بيروت، الى الكوكودي غرب الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت، الى شاتيلا حيث أصيب في إحدى المواجهات بقدمه إصابة أقعدته في الفراش لفترة وجيزة، استأنف بعدها نشاطه مع الشهيد أبو جهاد (خليل الوزير) الذي كانت تربطه به علاقة وثيقة.

بعدما غادر القادة الفلسطينيون وفصائل الثورة الفلسطينية بيروت، تسنّى للحاج عماد معرفة مخازن أسلحة كثيرة. يومها، كوّن الحاج عماد مع رفاقه النواة الأولى لما بات يعرف لاحقاً بالمقاومة الإسلامية. وألّفت مجموعات للمقاومة في بيروت والبقاع الغربي والجنوب، بدأوا بشن سلسلة عمليات على دوريات للعدو، ونصب الكمائن وقنص الجنود وقصف التجمعات بالصواريخ.. إلى أن كانت باكورة العمليات النوعية للمقاومة الإسلامية بتاريخ 11/11/1982 حيث دمّر مقرّ الحاكم العسكري في مدينة صور في جنوب لبنان في عملية للاستشهادي أحمد قصير.

في تلك الفترة، لم ينقطع الحاج عماد عن أجواء الفصائل الفلسطينية، وبعد ترحيل قادة وكوادر ومقاتلين إلى تونس واليمن والسودان وانكفاء آخرين إلى سهل البقاع، بدأ الشرخ يبرز في العلاقات في ما بينهم، وشعر الحاج عماد بأنّ في مقدوره أداء دور توفيقي، فسعى إلى دفعهم نحو عمل مشترك بوجه إسرائيل فقط. وبحكم علاقته ومعرفته عن قرب بالكثير من المناضلين، قاد الحاج عماد عمليات مشتركة نفّذها مقاتلون من أحزاب لبنانية وآخرون فلسطينيون ومجموعات من المقاومة الإسلامية، وساهم الحاج عماد في تسليح العديد من فصائل المقاومة الوطنية والفلسطينية وتوفير الدعم اللوجستي لهم.

وعندما وقعت اشتباكات بين عدد من المخيمات الفلسطينية وحركة أمل، كان للحاج عماد دور يُشهد له في فض الاشتباكات وحل الإشكالات للحؤول دون تفاقم الأوضاع. وكثيراً ما تعرّض للمخاطر أثناء معالجة بعض الحالات الإنسانية الصعبة.

عام 1984 شهد أيضاً انفصال الحاج علي ديب (أبو حسن خضر سلامة) رفيق درب الحاج عماد عن حركة فتح، فانضمّ هو وتشكيلاته إلى المقاومة الإسلامية وكان سنداً للحاج عماد وذراعه اليمنى. تميّز أبو حسن بقلّة اهتمامه بالمناصب والمواقع التنظيمية. كان مشغولاً بالمهمات العملانية. وهو استمر كذلك حتى استشهاده في عام 1999 بتفجير العدو عبوة استهدفت سيارته في منطقة عبرا شرقي صيدا بعد محاولات عدة فاشلة لاغتياله.

مع أبو عمار وأبو جهاد

كان لشخصية الحاج عماد وقع محبّب ومكانة خاصة لدى الزعيم الفلسطيي الراحل ياسر عرفات، أبو عمار. حظي باحترامه وثقته رغم التباين الواسع في كثير من التوجهات والاقتناعات والرؤية في ما يتعلّق بأولويات الكفاح المسلح في مواجهة العدو. كان أبو عمار حريصاً على التواصل معه والوقوف على آرائه، وقد كان للحاج أبو حسن سلامة دور كبير في هذا المجال، إذ كان بمثابة الرسول بين الاثنين، فكان يلتقي بأبي عمار حاملاً رسائله الى الحاج، سواء أكان في تونس أم في اليمن أم في مصر، وكم كان يحلو لأبي عمار أن يخاطب الحاج عماد في رسائله «ولدي العزيز».

أمّا أبو جهاد، خليل الوزير، فلم تنقطع العلاقة بينه وبين الحاج عماد حتى تاريخ استشهاد أبو جهاد في تونس، وقد كان قناة ورسولاً خاصاً بينهما، ولا أحد يعرف متى يحين الوقت للحديث عنها.

يقول الحاج عماد: «كنت أعرف أنه لن يوافق على تسوية تطيح الحق الفلسطيني. وكلما كانت تطوّرات المواجهة بيننا وبين العدو تتقدّم صوب قرار إسرائيلي بالانسحاب من لبنان، كان «الختيار» يرسل الإشارات إلى الرغبة في الاستعداد لجولة جديدة من المواجهة مع الإسرائيليين في الداخل. صار أكثر اقتناعاً بالحاجة إلى استئناف العمل العسكري. أصلاً لم ينقطع التواصل معه. مرّت العلاقة بفترة عصيبة إثر اتفاقية أوسلو، لكننا كنا نعرف ماذا يجري من حوله، وكان هو يهتمّ بالاحتفاظ بصلة الوصل، كعادته، لم يكن يريد أن يقطع مع أحد. كان يقصد أحياناً شرح الموقف، وبعد انسحاب العدو من لبنان عام 2000، جاءت الرسالة الأساسية منه: أريد دعماً لوجستياً».

كان الحاج جالساً في مكتبه الخاص في قلب الضاحية الجنوبية عندما شرح لزائره أن حزب الله لم يكن يوماً عقبةً أمام أي نشاط لأي طرف في مجال المقاومة. سمع رأياً نقدياً وحتى اتهامياً بأن الحزب عمل مع سوريا على حصر المقاومة به. لم يكن الحاج انفعالياً، لكنه كان مستفَزاً في تلك اللحظة. سارع إلى شرح واقع الحال في لبنان والجنوب خلال فترة ما بعد توقف الحرب الأهلية. لم يكن يقبل بأي إشارة نقد إلى أي جهة أو فصيل له دور في المقاومة. كانت لديه معلومات تفصيلية عمّا فعله الآخرون من خارج حزب الله. لكنه شرح بالتفصيل، الواقع الذي دفع بكثير من القوى الأخرى إلى الانسحاب. لم ينف الظروف السياسية، لكنه قال بحزم: «تعرّضنا لكل أنواع القتل، والضغط، والحصار، والقطيعة، لكن قرارنا أولوية المقاومة وحمايتها كان فوق أي اعتبار آخر. ودافعنا بالدماء عن بقاء المقاومة».

بعد ذلك شرع الحاج رضوان بالحديث عن فلسطين. قال إن هدف حزب الله واضح، وهو إزالة إسرائيل. «ليس في الأمر جدل ولا مساومة، ونحن غير معنيين بأي قرار يتخذه أي طرف في العالم لمنح إسرائيل شرعية البقاء. ونحن لا نتحدث عن شيء غير واقعي. وإلى جانب اقتناعاتنا الدينية، لدينا الكثير من الأسباب العلمية التي تدفعنا الى الاقتناع أكثر، بأن زوال إسرائيل مسألة مرتبطة بما نفعله نحن، أهل فلسطين داخلها وفي محيطها وفي العالم العربي والإسلامي».

فجأة، وقف الحاج في مكانه، وشرع مع أحد مساعديه في البحث داخل خزانة عن مخطط لعمل استراتيجي. قال لزائره: «بعد التحرير عام 2000، وعندما تيسّر لنا التعرف أكثر إلى العدوّ وقدراتنا نحن، صار حلم تحرير فلسطين قابلاً للتحقق. لقد أنشأنا لجنة لإزالة إسرائيل. وفي المقاومة، عندنا، ثمة وحدة خاصة بفلسطين. نحن لا نقوم بالعمل عن الفلسطينيين، ولن نفعل ذلك. لكننا في موقع سياسي وأخلاقي وديني يوجب علينا توفير كل مستلزمات الدعم للمقاومين في فلسطين، ليس فقط لمساعدتهم على البقاء حيث هم الآن، بل لمقاومة الاحتلال ودفعه إلى الخروج ولو تدريجاً من الأراضي المحتلّة».

وللتوضيح أكثر، أشار الحاج رضوان، مع تنويه بأنه غير قادر على الإفاضة لأن تفاصيل كثيرة هي من أسرار العمل، إلى أن حزب الله لديه صلات قوية مع كل مجموعات المقاومة داخل فلسطين ودون أي استثناء. تحدث بقوة وودّ عن كتائب شهداء الأقصى، وقال إن «العلمانيين واليساريين في فلسطين كانوا من طليعة مَن عملنا معهم. لكن لدينا الآن تحالف استراتيجي مع حماس والجهاد الإسلامي ومع القوى الجدية في مقاومة الاحتلال». تابع: «نحن لا نقبل بأي شكل أن يقوم تنظيم في فلسطين يتبع لنا تنظيمياً أو إدارياً أو حتى دينياً. والذين اعتنقوا المذهب الشيعي، حاولوا معنا بقوة، العمل على إنشاء تنظيم أو فرع لحزب الله في فلسطين، فلم نقبل بذلك، ولن نقبل. نحن لم نجد في المقاومة خياراً للتحرير فقط، بل مكاناً تقتل فيه الفتنة، ويبتعد السجال المذهبي والطائفي والعقائدي، وتصبح الخلافات محصورة في كيفية تحقيق نجاحات على صعيد مقاومة الاحتلال».

الحضور الميداني في فلسطين

للحاج رضوان علاقة خاصة مع قيادات حماس والجهاد الإسلامي. كان حازماً في توفير الدعم المالي والإعلامي لانتفاضتي فلسطين ونسج علاقة متينة مع الشهيد الدكتور فتحي الشقاقي، الأمين العام السابق لحركة الجهاد. ثم ارتبط الحاج عماد بعلاقة وثيقة مع الدكتور رمضان عبد الله شلح الأمين العام للجهاد بعد الشقاقي، وبنى علاقات استثنائية مع قيادات حماس في الداخل والخارج، حتى إن البعض لا يعرف ربما، أن الحاج عماد، قبيل استشهاده بساعات، كان في اجتماع مع زعيم حماس خالد مشعل في حضور قياديين من الحركة في دمشق.

بعد استئناف التواصل مع أبو عمار، لم يغفل الحاج عماد الحاجة إلى حضور مباشر لمقاومين في الميدان. كان بالإضافة الى تعاون وثيق ومميز مع حماس والجهاد، يعمل على تأمين انتقال كوادر ومقاتلين من داخل فلسطين الى سوريا ولبنان وإيران لإخضاعهم لدورات عسكرية ومنحهم المعرفة والخبرة والدراسات اللازمة، ثم العمل على إعادتهم إلى الأراضي المحتلّة. وقد طوّرت قوى المقاومة في فلسطين آليات النقل هذه، برغم الحصار الذي كان النظام الأمني لحسني مبارك يفرضه عليهم.

وعندما كان الحاج عماد يشعر بالحاجة إلى الحضور المباشر، لم يكن يتردد في إرسال مَن يجب إرساله إلى الأراضي المحتلة. وقد نجحت إسرائيل، مرتين على الأقل، في كشف مقاومين من حزب الله واعتقالهم، سواء بجهود منها، أو بجهود عملاء لها داخل أجهزة أمن السلطة الفلسطينية، أو بسبب أخطاء واجهت المقاومين أنفسهم. لكن الحاج لم يكن يترك هؤلاء يعيشون لوقت طويل في السجون، وكان سعيه الدائم إلى تنفيذ عمليات أسر لجنود العدو، يقوى بحافز إطلاق هؤلاء الكوادر.

وقد مثّل تطور عمل حماس والجهاد داخل فلسطين المحتل، ونشوء العديد من التشكيلات النضالية والجهادية دافعاً مهمّاً للحاج عماد إلى التطوير، وتفرغ لإعداد الخطط والبرامج لدعم هذه الفصائل داخل فلسطين. وقد شرع في توفير مستلزمات مواجهة العدو تدريباً وتسليحاً ودعماً لوجستياً ومادياً، فأنشأ داخل المقاومة الإسلامية تشكيلاً خاصاً لفلسطين، وفّر له المستلزمات المطلوبة، وكان همّه تدريب الشباب الفلسطيني وإيصال السلاح إلى فلسطين، ولعله في داخله كان يردّ بعضاً من الجميل لرفاق الأمس الذين أمدّوه بالسلاح عند انطلاقة المقاومة الإسلامية في لبنان.

بعد توفير المقوّمات الأساسية للصمود العسكري على مستوى السلاح الخفيف والمتوسط لكل من حماس والجهاد وكتائب شهداء الأقصى واللجان الشعبية وكتائب أبو الريش وغيرها من الفصائل المقاومة، شرع الحاج عماد بتنفيذ قرار قيادة المقاومة الإسلامية توفير الدعم المفتوح للمقاومة في فلسطين. ووفّرت سوريا وإيران الدعم الإضافي والاستراتيجي، وشرع بتمكين المقاومين في فلسطين من إنتاج القدرة النوعية لمواجهة العدو سعياً إلى تحقيق توازن تكتيكي ونوعي مع العدو. ولم يكن يغفل عن بناء التشكيلات والتخصصات، كالمشاة وسلاح الهندسة والقناصة والوحدة المضادة للدروع والقوة الصاروخية، فضلاً عن بناء تشكيلات منظمة ونموذجية لخوض حرب عصابات مع جيش العدو. حتى إن قيادياً رفيعاً في كتائب عز الدين القسّام قال إن الحاج عماد كان شريكنا في حرب غزة.

لم يكن الحاج عماد يفرّق بين مقاوم وآخر. لم يدع سبيلاً الى فلسطين إلّا سلكه غير آبه بكل اللّاءات والممنوعات التي كانت تطوّق فلسطين قبل الأطواق المفروضة من العدو أسلاكاً وجدراناً، فلا عباب البحر ردّه ولا أمواجه العاتية، ولا وعورة الأرض والجبال والوديان حالت دون إيصال السلاح إلى فلسطين من فوق الأرض ومن… تحتها!

مغنية في نظر مطارديه

في الثالث من الشهر الجاري عرضت القناة الثانية الإسرائيلية برنامج «عوفدا» وفيه تحقيق أعدّه «ساريت ماغِن» و«نعمه بيري» تشتمل تفاصيله على حكاية غير رسمية عن اغتيال الحاج عماد مغنية في دمشق، وفيه شهادات لعدد كبير من رجال الأمن البارزين في إسرائيل ومسؤولين وعملاء سابقين لوكالة الاستخبارات الأميركية، تحدّثوا عن مغنية ومواصفاته، والعمل على تعقّبه.

■ دافيد بركاي، مسؤول رفيع المستوى عمل سابقاً في وحدة الاستخبارات ينظر الى صورة مغنية ويقول: «هذا يخيفني بعض الشيء، وهو لا يزال يخيفني. لم يكن مغنية مخرّباً، بل كان استراتيجياً استخدم الإرهاب كجزء من استراتيجيته».

■ آمنون شاحاك رئيس هيئة الأركان سابقاً: «عماد مغنية كان جريئاً، وذكياً، ومثّل خطراً حقيقياً على دولة إسرائيل».

• Won’t any conscious, cognizant and decent citizen rebuff such an outrageous and disgraceful action?
• Won’t the international community categorically react to the Muslims community?

The extent of international punishments for insulting the holy book of Jews will be so wide-ranging and across-the-board that the Muslims will profoundly regret their action and instantaneously apologize; however, the question which I posed contains a possibility that never takes place.

Muslims have always paid tribute to other Abrahamic religions and treated their pillars, prophets and holy books with great reverence and respect. Essentially, Islam has put a crucial responsibility on the shoulders of Muslims to respect the other religions, treat with the followers of Abrahamic religions in a brotherly manner and never make a distinction between them.

To be just and fair, Islam has comprehensively advised its followers to pay homage and respect to the beliefs of those who follow other religions and avoid behaving in a way which degrades and subdues them. In the Verse 285 of the Chapter Baqara (Heifer) of the Holy Quran, we read:

 “The Apostle believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith.

Islam has never hesitated to verify the authenticity and legitimacy of its predecessors and the nations which adhered to the holy books. In the Verse 62 of the Chapter Baqara, it’s expressively stated that those who believe in the Almighty God and do decent acts, regardless of their religion, will be blessed and exalted rightfully:

“Those who believe in the Quran, and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians, – any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

Burning the Holy Quran on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks will simply draw an end to the spiritual life of those who have planned such a dirty trick.

I’m sure that no conscious Muslim will do any harm to the evangelical pastor who is going to burn the Holy Quran on September 11, but I’m sure that his spiritual life as a minister will come to a tragic end, because the very Almighty God who has revealed the Holy Quran upon Prophet Muhammad will save His book as well.

CAIRO, Jul 9, 2010 (IPS) – Israel’s deadly assault on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla last month has led to mounting international pressure to end the ongoing Israeli and Egyptian blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The incident, say local analysts, has also served to bolster the position of Palestinian resistance group Hamas, which has governed the strip since 2007.

“Israel’s murderous assault has swung the balance in favour of the Hamas-led resistance in Gaza,” Abdel-Halim Kandil, political analyst and editor-in-chief of opposition weekly Al-Karama told IPS.

“This Mediterranean Intifada will be remembered as a turning point in the history of the Palestinian cause.”

On May 31, Israeli commandos stormed a Turkish ship bringing humanitarian aid supplies to the Hamas-run coastal enclave, killing nine Turkish activists.

Most western governments refrained from issuing outright condemnation of the attack, which took place in international waters. Nevertheless, the incident sparked widespread public outrage, triggering angry protests around the world.

The very next day, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak abruptly announced that the Rafah terminal — Egypt’s sole border crossing with the Gaza Strip — would be opened to humanitarian aid “until further notice.”

Hitherto, Egypt had refused to open the crossing unless Hamas first signed on to an Egypt-proposed “reconciliation” agreement with the U.S.-backed Fatah movement of Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas.

“Before the flotilla massacre, Egypt — Israel’s chief regional ally — had kept Rafah closed for the most part,” said Kandil. “

But immediately afterwards, in an effort to shield itself from the rising storm of international outrage, it suddenly changed its position.”

Israel sealed its six border crossings with the Gaza Strip following Hamas’s landslide victory in the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections, won on a platform of armed resistance. One year later, after the group seized control of the enclave from its Fatah rivals in a pre-emptive coup, Egypt followed suit, closing Rafah to both people and goods.

The de facto siege served to hermetically seal off the strip, depriving its roughly 1.5 million inhabitants of desperately needed basic goods, including food, medicine and fuel. Israel’s 22-day ‘Cast Lead’ assault on the besieged territory in late 2008/early 2009, which killed over 1,400 Palestinians and levelled much of the strip’s infrastructure, exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation.

Late last year, Egypt began building a subterranean barrier along its 14- kilometre border with the Gaza Strip, on the pretext of halting arms smuggling between the enclave and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

The U.S.- endorsed project aims to choke the underground tunnels that represent Gaza’s last remaining lifeline to the outside world.

Israel — along with the U.S., Egypt and Fatah — had initially hoped that the siege would either move Gaza’s public to overthrow the elected Hamas leadership, or coerce the resistance group into signing Egypt’s “reconciliation” document. The document stipulates that Hamas acknowledge Israel and abandon armed resistance.

Until now, Hamas has steadfastly refused to sign the agreement, despite steadily mounting pressure to do so by the Egyptian government.

“Hamas infuriated Egypt with its refusal to sign, charging that the document’s terms favoured Fatah,” Tarek Fahmi, head of the Israel department at the Cairo-based National Centre for Middle East Studies, told IPS. “In fact, in the weeks leading up to the flotilla attack, Egypt had cut official contact with the group and refused to welcome its leaders in Cairo.”

Fatah, for its part, signed the agreement last October. Known for engaging in close military and intelligence cooperation with Israel, the Fatah-led PA insists on pursuing a discredited “peace process” with Israel, which has failed to stop continued Israeli settlement building on occupied Palestinian land.

Since Mubarak’s Jun. 1 announcement, Egypt has allowed limited numbers of people and some medical supplies to cross the border through Rafah. But it continues to insist that most goods enter the Gaza Strip via the Israeli- controlled Al-Auja and Kerem Abu Saalim border crossings.

Nevertheless, local analysts say the gesture signals a victory for Hamas.

“The blockade’s primary objective had been to end Hamas leadership in Gaza through collective punishment,” says Kandil. “It was meant to send a message to the Palestinian people that their choice of resistance — in the form of Hamas — would result in severe hardships on the entire population.” But now the international community, not Hamas, has had to change position, he said.

In another indication of Hamas’s reinvigorated standing, Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa visited Gaza Jun. 13. He met with Hamas leaders to discuss inter-Palestinian reconciliation and the need to lift the blockade. Since the outset of the siege, Moussa had declined repeated invitations from Hamas officials to visit the beleaguered territory.

“For the last four years, Moussa — along with the rest of the League — had been passive observers while the siege took its devastating toll on the people of Gaza,” said Kandil. “But following Israel’s latest massacre, Moussa ran to the strip and began hinting about possible amendments to the reconciliation proposal.”

Only five days after the attack, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Hamas as “resistance fighters struggling to defend their land,” pointing out that the group “had won an election.” Most influential western nations — including the U.S. and European states — continue to classify Hamas as a “terrorist” organisation.

But despite questions of Israeli and Egyptian sincerity about easing the blockade, some local analysts believe policymakers in Cairo now have little choice but to recognise Hamas’s authority in Gaza — whether or not the group signs the agreement with Fatah. (END)

Hamas: don’t give in on Shalit

The cruel Israeli regime is organizing a fresh campaign to demand the release of one of its occupation soldiers, detained in a secret Gaza location.

The new campaign, publicized by the Jewish-controlled media in Europe and North America, is assuming many expressions, including protests led by the soldier’s family, a propaganda ship organized by the American Jewish followers of the Nazi-minded rabbi Meir Kahana, and a call by happy-go-lucky French President Nicolas Sarkozy for the unconditional release of the Israeli soldier.

This is the same Sarkozy who kept silent during the murderous Israeli onslaught against the defenseless people of Gaza eighteen months ago. He is now invoking humanitarianism and charity as if the thousands of Gaza children, men and women, annihilated or maimed by the Israeli army were non-humans.

It is true that Gilad Shalit is not being accorded a five-star treatment. But this is not due to any presumed sadistic urges on Hamas’s part to torment the young soldier who is likely to have the blood of many children on his hand.

In Israel, it is difficult to find an adult Israeli male whose hands have not been stained with Palestinian blood.

After all, Israel is a society of murderers and child-killers.

It is a society whose members Zionism has transformed into racists, cannibals and Nazi-minded murderers and child killers.

Indeed, were it not for the fact that Israel has been making constant and meticulous efforts to discover his whereabouts and liberate him by force, there is no doubt that Hamas would allow the International Commission of the Red Cross, even his family, to visit him.

But Israel, a country that murders peace activists on high seas and then calls the cold-blooded murder “armed confrontations with terrorists,” can’t be trusted.

Palestinians have had a long and bitter experience with Israeli treachery. This is why Hamas can’t allow itself to make the slightest risk in this regard. Yes, one might sympathize with Shalit at a certain human level. However, Shalit is only one person while the entire Palestinian people are held hostage by an evil regime that can only be compared with history’s worst.

There are, of course, other aspects to this sensitive issue. Israel detains thousands of Palestinian political and resistance prisoners in its dungeons. And as the recently-freed Palestinian Islamic leader Sheikh Nayef Rajoub revealed, many of these prisoners are being subjected to Medieval savagery at the hands of those claiming to be “a light upon the nations.”

For those who have forgotten, Shalit was taken prisoner in battlefield. Moreover, had Israel succeeded in carrying out a rescue operation, he would have most likely got killed.

This is probably the endgame that Israel wishes for its imprisoned soldier. A dead Shalit would be a Hasara bonanza for the Zionist propaganda machine. On the one hand, it would allow Israel to torture and kill more Palestinian political prisoners (several Palestinian prisoners died recently due to torture, medical negligence and other causes). It would also absolve Israel from freeing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners as demanded by Hamas and insisted by the vast bulk of the Palestinian masses, irrespective of their political orientation.

To be sure, Hamas had been negotiating in good faith with Israel, hoping to reach a dignified breakthrough that would see the repatriation of Shalit to his family in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian detainees to their families. That would be a win-win formula for everyone.

However, the Israeli government consistently and arrogantly rejected this logical proposal, making racist arguments which even the leaders and ideologues of the Third Reich didn’t dare to make. For example, Israeli leaders routinely invoke the mendacious canard that the Judeo-Nazi state cannot free prisoners who have Jewish blood on their hands. Well, what about the thousands or tens thousands of Israelis who have Palestinian, Lebanese and now Turkish blood on their hands? Is non-Jewish blood less red than Jewish blood?

Israel doesn’t dare indulge in a genuine argument in this regard. The reason is simple. Israel views the blood and lives of non-Jews as insignificant, at least in comparison to Jewish blood and Jewish lives. Just try to have a brief conversation with a rabbi and you will be more than shocked hearing what he will be saying in this regard.

In any case, Hamas must not show the slightest sign of fatigue vis-à-vis Israel because the lives and freedom of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are at stake.

Hamas has been successfully managing this Shalit affair for over three years. Israel committed untold massacres and has been imposing a manifestly criminal siege on 1.7 million human beings, in the hope of creating a crack in Hamas’s wall of steadfastness. But neither Israeli pressure, nor western conspiracy, nor Arab collusion and Palestinian Authority treachery, have succeeded in pressurizing Hamas to give in or give up.

In the final analysis, Hamas has a huge moral responsibility toward thousands of Palestinian families whose children are languishing in Israeli concentration camps and dungeons.

Needless to say, these people have spent the prime of their lives in Israeli prisons so that their people will be able to live in dignity and in order to maintain the hope for freedom and liberation from evil Zionism.

Hence, we must not hesitate to proclaim and reassert the Palestinian position in this regard, namely that Shalit must stay behind bars as long as Israel insists on keeping our men, and women and children behind bars.

This position may not be popular in New York and Paris. But why show the slightest concern about what Paris and New York think in the firs place. They have always been and continue to be our direct or indirect tormentors. Our responsibility is first and foremost toward these tortured Palestinian prisoners and their suffering families who have kept our national just cause alive.

In a nutshell, our prisoners are not children of a lesser God.

Netanyahu ‘Ready’ to Free 1,000 Captives to Bring Shalit Home

01/07/2010 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday ‘conditional readiness’ to release 1,000 Palestinian captives to secure the release of soldier Gilad Shalit but said that the Zionist entity will not pay an unlimited price.

In a live address to the country, Netanyahu said all Israelis wanted Shalit back safely but claimed Israel could not “pay any price” because past experience showed that many Palestinians released had returned to carry out attacks on Israelis.

“Israel is willing to pay a heavy price for the release of Shalit, but not ‘at any price.’ This is the truth, and I am saying it now,” Netanyahu claimed, adding that Israel will continue to make every effort to bring Shalit home while maintaining the security of Israel’s citizens.

Netanyahu’s address comes four days after the family and supporters of Shalit began a protest march from the Shalit’s Galilee home to the prime minister’s official residence in occupied Jerusalem.

Netanyahu said the decision to free Palestinian captives “is a difficult decision for any government.” Despie this, he said he had agreed to the latest offer from Hamas. “The German mediator’s offer which we agreed to accept called for the release of 1,000 people. This is the price I am prepared to pay to bring Gilad home. I said yes to the deal and it is ready for immediate implementation,” Netanyahu said.

He was referring to a moment last December when a deal and a prisoner exchange appeared imminent but in the end never came about. Media reports at the time spoke of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Shalit, although there was never official confirmation from the Israeli side.

“I am steadfast on two basic principles: The first principle is that dangerous terrorists will not return to the West Bank from where they can continue to harm Israel’s citizens,” Netanyahu went on to say, adding that the freed prisoners could go to Tunisia or the Gaza Strip or any other place, but not to the West Bank because this would afford them access to Israeli cities.

The second sticking point Netanyahu mentioned was “arch-terrorists.” They would not be freed as part of the deal, he added.
